What we do
Confluence Analytics works with government agencies, catchment management authorities and agricultural groups. Their problems usually involve messy data, highly variable systems and decisions with real consequences.
Scenario and climate adaptation modelling
We model how rivers, wetlands and farms respond to climate change, water management and adaptation options. Our models represent the mechanisms behind each response, so their projections are more reliable outside the historical record.
Data integration and analysis
We bring together gauge records, remote sensing, hydrological model output and field data, and harmonise them into a usable evidence base. We choose statistical methods to fit the question, and we develop new ones when standard methods fall short.
Decision-support tools
We build dashboards, web apps and reproducible software that managers and their analysts can use and extend. Our code is documented and tested, and we release it openly where the client allows.
Ecological risk and condition assessment
We assess condition, risk and benefit for fish, waterbirds, vegetation and other ecological values. Each assessment states its assumptions and the uncertainty around its conclusions.
